Villa Thai Orchid is a small, adults-only bed and breakfast on a quiet lane in the heart of Chiang Mai's Old City. From the gate you can walk to Wat Chedi Luang, the Three Kings Monument and Tha Pae Gate, and every Sunday evening the Walking Street market fills Ratchadamnoen Road, just a short stroll away.
Four room types keep things simple and comfortable: Deluxe double, king and twin rooms of 20 to 28 m², plus a Two-Bedroom Villa of 56 m² with a living room and two bathrooms. Every room is air-conditioned and has a private bathroom with free toiletries, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a fridge, a safe and a tea and coffee maker.
The staff take care of daily housekeeping, luggage storage and laundry, and the tour desk can help you plan trips around the city. Wi-Fi is free throughout, the garden is a calm spot to rest between temple visits, and the whole property is non-smoking. It suits couples and friends travelling without children.

Floors are tiled, and upper floors are reached by stairs only.
The differences lie in space and layout: a private balcony in the Deluxe Double, a super-king bed in the compact Deluxe King, two single beds in the roomier Deluxe Twin, and two bedrooms with a living room in the villa.

Villa Thai Orchid stands on a quiet lane off Prapokkloa Road in Phra Sing, right in the centre of Chiang Mai's Old City. The Three Kings Monument and the City Arts & Cultural Centre are about 400 m away, Tha Pae Gate around 500 m, and Wat Chedi Luang is just a few minutes' walk.
Chiang Mai International Airport is only about 4 km away, a 15- to 20-minute drive depending on traffic. The official airport taxi desk in the arrivals hall runs around the clock, and Grab and Bolt also operate from the airport; keep the address handy to show the driver. Chiang Mai Railway Station is roughly 3 km away and the main bus station about 3.4 km away, both a short taxi ride. Inside the Old City, most sights are best reached on foot, and as there is no parking at the property, a car is more burden than help. Check-in runs from 14:00 to 21:00, and guests are asked to share their arrival time in advance.
Start with the temples: Wat Chedi Luang and its ruined great chedi are close by, while Wat Phra Singh, home of the revered Phra Phutthasihing image and the murals of the Wihan Lai Kham, sits at the western end of Ratchadamnoen Road. Go in the morning or late afternoon, with shoulders covered. On Sundays from around 16:00, the road becomes the Sunday Walking Street, stretching about a kilometre from Tha Pae Gate to Wat Phra Singh and at its liveliest between 18:00 and 20:30. On Saturdays, the smaller Wua Lai Road market south of Chiang Mai Gate is known for silverwork. Beyond the walls, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is about 25 minutes' drive up the mountain. November to January brings cool, clear weather; February to April can be hot and smoky, and May to October is the green rainy season.
